LITTERATUR
I Libanon er folkebibliotek et ukjent begrep. Barn og unge i sosio-økonomisk vanskeligstilte miljøer kommer dermed ikke i kontakt med litteratur utenom skoleboka.
Forum startet bibliotek-prosjektet i Rashedieh-leiren i 2005, som inkluderer anskaffelse av leselyst-fremmende barne- og ungdomsbøker på arabisk og engelsk, fysisk utforming av biblioteket og oppretting av ulike bibliotekaktiviteter, som høytlesing osv.
Forum finansierer en delstilling som bibliotekansvarlig, for blant annet å gjøre biblioteket mer tilgjengelig for brukerne og for å kunne drive utlånsvirksomhet.
Med X-art-prosjektet ble Forums litteraturengasjement utvidet med opplæring i den finske metoden Storycrafting og diverse skrive- og leseopplæringsteknikker.

In Lebanon public libraries is more or less an unknown concept. Thus, children and youth in socio-economic deprived societies are not exposed to literature other than schoolbooks.
FORUM started the library-project in Raschedyieh in 2005, with the aim of supplying appealing Arabic and English books for children and youth to boost their love of reading, creating a library with a functional, relaxing and inspiring physical layout, and establishing various library activities.
FORUM finances a part time appointment as library coordinator to make the library more accessible for the users, and to facilitate book-loan.
