The center provides support for the local community through the following programs:• Mental Health Program for Children• Workshops addressing mother’s psychotherapeutic and psychomotor capacities• Literacy program for mothers of schoolchildren• Academic Support Program for Children• Arabic and math classes for Syrian refugeesThe bene ciaries of the two MSSCF-schools and The Mada Center are coming from the old town of Saida and nearby areas, where the majority of the population lives in di cult socio-economic and environmental conditions, with high unemployment.Some of the art workshops described in this report, have been carried out at The Mada Center.Forum for Culture and International Cooperation (FORUM)Forum is a Norwegian humanitarian foundation working with visual art, music and literature directed atchildren and youth in Lebanon, Norway and Uganda, through teaching and exchange.FORUM for Culture and International Cooperation was established in 2004 with the aim of o eringactivities, training and experiences in visual art, music and literature to traumatized children and youth in areas where aesthetical subjects are omitted from the school curriculum.FORUM’s main partner in Lebanon is Beit Atfal Assumoud (BAS)The activities of FORUM include:• nancing weekly art- and music-activities in Raschediyeh camp (Southern Lebanon) and in Bedawiand Nahr el-Bared camps (Northern Lebanon)• following up the project and train local teachers through workshops several times a year• collecting and purchasing instruments and equipment, producing teaching materials, and contributing nancially to the exchange program Norway‒Lebanon In addition FORUM also supplies:• professional assistance to music activities in Imam al-Sadr Foundation’s primary school in Tyre• professional assistance to music and art activities in Marouf Saad Social and Cultural Foundation’stwo primary schools in Sidon• economic and professional assistance to music and art activities in the public secondary high school inShohour, Southern LebanonOther partnersOther NGOs that I have worked with is Ecumenical Popular Education Program (EPEP) in Beirut andZaituna association in Ein el Helwe camp in Saida.23
