My Book, My VoiceMy Book, My Voice is a project that seeks to promote re ection, curiosity and the joy to create. The project is facilitating and giving the participants the means to express their distinctive history and experiences through artistic expression and Artists’ books.To enable participants to express what they want, they need to learn about visual means and techniques. In the workshops we do drawing exercises, learn drawing techniques, work on joint and individually drawings and create Artist Books.Through artistic and creative activity we activate and train the ability to observe, critical thinking and problem solving. In a creative process, we ask open questions, and there are no xed right or wrong answers. Therefore, the content of the workshop will vary. Sometimes the participants will nish making their book, other times the workshop heads in a quite di erent direction; it all depends on the group, their needs or ideas. It takes time to learn how to work in a creative process, as it needs to mature in the individual. A good process is a goal in itself, because it leads to experience and knowledge.Artist booksNowadays, books have lost some of the importance they used to have, especially among the youth. The digital media has taken over many of the functions of a book.Many people, both in Norway and Lebanon, as in the rest of the world, have a relation to books limited to school text books or something not relevant and old fashioned, or they simply don’t have any8
